The Albany District (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is an organization of African American women with more than 70 years of service promoting educational, civic and cultural activities throughout the greater capital region. From its chartering in 1952 to the present, the Albany chapter has proven its commitment to linking friendship and service through programming, partnerships and collaborations with local organizations and agencies to benefit our communities.

Links members are newsmakers, role models, activists and volunteers who share the goal of enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans in our community. Our members are women who represent diverse professions in the Capital region — all dedicated to our mission of purposeful service.

Serving the community is a key commitment of our organization, which we accomplish through annual grants and a minimum of 1,700 documented community service hours annually. Our work has been recognized by the Albany chapter of Women’s Clubs, Inc. and the Center for Women in Government and Civil Society. In addition, the Chapter’s transformative work with youth has been recognized at the national level with the Hardiman Johnson Umbrella award from the Eastern Area of The Links, Incorporated.
